Our Shipping Policy
Shipping costs are based on product weight and dimensions. Ground shipments are sent via either FedEx or UPS; freight shipments are sent via one of our trusted carriers. All of our shipments are insured. All of our shipments ship via our company account due to logistic reasons.
Most standard delivery orders will arrive within 7 - 10 business days.
ALL SHIPMENTS SHOULD BE INSPECTED AT THE TIME OF DELIVERY. If delivered by freight truck, please contact the freight carrier at the phone number on the carrier’s bill. Please note, signing for your delivery without noting any damages, issues, or inability to inspect the delivery on the relevant paperwork legally states that you have received your freight in good condition and SolarMicros cannot be held liable for any damages or missing pieces (and leaving a note and/or instructions for the driver is the same as signing for your products in good condition). If you choose to sign for a visibly damaged product, please note on the relevant paperwork that you are signing for a damaged package; however, SolarMicros cannot be held liable for any damages or missing pieces accepted via signature delivery.
Expedited Shipments
We do our best to ship expedited orders the same day we receive them. However, we cannot guarantee that orders placed after 10:00 AM Pacific Standard Time (1:00 PM Eastern Time) will ship the same day. Expedited orders placed over the weekend or on major holidays will be not be processed or shipped until the next business day.
Also, please remember when counting shipping transit times that weekends and major holidays are not counted since carriers do not deliver on Saturdays or Sundays. The exception to this rule is Saturday delivery; if your order requires Saturday delivery, please contact our sales department at 408-624-7842 end they will assist you.
Out of Stock and Backordered
Sometimes, an item may have a lead time. Usually this is specified in the product's "Availability" field; however, occasionally we may discover that an item is backordered after the order is received. Regardless, if there is a lead time associated with your order, we will call and / or email you to confirm that this lead time will work with your project deadline.
Special Requests
If your order has one of the following requirements:
- Preference for FedEx or UPS
- An important deadline
Please specify this in the order notes when you place your order and we will do our best to accommodate you. If you have other requirements, please call our sales department at 408-624-7842 before placing your order and they will assist you.
Multiple Shipments
Because we warehouse our products across the US, sometimes we may need to ship your order from two or more different locations. In situations where this is the case, we will never charge you more for shipping than you originally paid.
If your order needs to arrive in a single shipment, please contact our sales department when placing your order at 408-624-7842 or add this information to the "Order Comments" box. To consolidate some orders, we may need to bring the products into our Vista office and combine them before shipping them to you, so your order may have an additional 3 - 5 day lead time and an additional shipping charge may apply.
International Shipments
SolarMicros can ship orders outside the United States. We use FedEx for ground orders; for freight orders, please contact our sales department at 408-624-7842 Ato place your order. All international orders are sent "Deliver Duty Unpaid," so you will be responsible for any duties or taxes upon your order’s arrival.
Shipping on your FedEx or UPS Account
It is SolarMicros's policy to only ship regular parcel orders (ground, air / express shipments, non freight) on our UPS account. We appreciate your understanding.

Certain products on SolarMicros must be shipped freight. This is usually due to the product's weight or physical dimensions. Flooded lead-acid batteries must also ship freight because they are considered hazardous materials. SolarMicros products that must ship freight regardless of weight are:
- Large solar panels (over 90 watts in most cases)
- Large Inverters (over 1kw)
- Rails longer than 9 feet (108")
- Flooded lead-acid batteries
Anything that weighs more than 70 lbs must also ship freight. Products that often fall into this category include:
- Deep cycle batteries
- Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries(LiFeP04)
Freight Options
When placing an order that must ship freight, you will need two pieces of information:
- Is this shipping to a commercial zone or a residence?
- Will you need a lift gate?
If your freight shipment is going to a residential area, the cost will be greater than if you were to ship freight to a commercial zone. Because these areas are more accessible and tend to be on established routes already, shipping to them is less costly.
If your product shipping freight weighs more than 100 pounds and you do not have access to a forklift or loading dock at your destination, you will need a lift gate to get your pallet from the truck to the ground.
Freight can be complex. Because the freight quotes on the front end of our website are approximate, they may be able to give you a better rate as well.
The shipping cost we display at checkout is only an estimate and may be adjusted at the time of shipment. Freight rates are going up, in some cases significantly, while the product is in production. You can help by providing us with a shipping address that is commercial and can accommodate a semi-trailer and/ or acknowledging the terms and conditions outlined.
Ground / Freight Cost Logistics

Any fees incurred by any shipping carrier due to lack of delivery information (address & or location) will automatically be billed to the customer. Please make sure you check your order confirmation to ensure accurate information has been noted.
If placing order via phone, please inform sales representative to note any shipping irregularities (which may be inaccessible to shipping carriers such as narrow driveway, rural locations, steep hills, dirt / gravel roads and missing address information and signage.)
